NES Provides work for kitchen designed by Robert Dean Architects
January 17, 2010 |
New England Stone recently provided the stonework for a kitchen and home designed by Robert Dean Architects. An article was published in Fairfield County Home Magazine this past summer. The article now follows:
“When working on historical homes, architect Robert Dean finds it particularly important to be respectful of the structure’s original character. In creating the new kitchen for this 18th century house, Dean made sure any alterations maintained harmony with the old.
“The homeowner wanted to expand a formerly choppy kitchen. The narrow existing kitchen was transformed into a butler’s pantry and the overall footprint was expanded to make room for a fully functional kitchen. An octagonal sitting area at the rear edge of the house, which blends in with the existing structure, takes advantage of back yard views. A full guest suite occupies the floor below.” Fairfield County Home Magazine. July/August 2009.
